The wine has a ruby red color with a tasteful bouquet of blackberries, herbs and floral notes. In the mouth compact, spicy, tangy and juicy. In the aftertaste a fine ripeness.
Domain
Nugzar Ksovreli, of Kakheti Wine Company, made the iconic Saperavi wines from the Kakhetian region, from the vineyard owned by the Konchosvili family. Swiss winemaker Thierry Fontannaz was fascinated by the age-old Georgian winemaking techniques and was inspired to create Bedoba from the Saperavi wines. The wine cellars date back to 1533, when traditional Kakheti wines were produced and sold here. The estate is located just north of the Alazani River and is 400 meters above sea level.
Soil
A soil very rich in black slate, with a high concentration of carbonates, this gives Beboda its unique style.
Age
The vines are over 30 years old and are cultivated using sustainable and organic techniques
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand and then fermented in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature. After 6 weeks, the wine is partly put in oak barrels and another part goes into stainless steel vats for malolactic fermentation. The wine is a composition of different maturation processes. After bottling, the wine is kept in the bottle for 12 months for further maturation.
