Bolfan Aromano is the special Orange wine from the Bolfan winery from the Zagorje region with an alcohol content of 14.5%. It is a very gastronomic wine made from 95% Pinot Gris and 5% Traminac. The grapes have had a separate fermentation process in stainless steel tanks. The maceration lasted 15 days during which the skins were not separated from the must, creating the amber color of the wine. The blend is then made in large wooden barrels of used Slavonian oak. The wine is then aged in these barrels for 24 months.
Tasting notes
Bolfan Aromano has intense notes of overripe apricot with a special spiciness. The wine is full-bodied but at the same time soft thanks to the maturation in oak barrels and the beautiful acidity. Because the skins are fermented (which creates the amber color), the wine has very pleasant soft tannins. Aromano has many gastronomic options. The wine goes well with dishes such as turkey with zucchini and smoked cheese, pork medallions baked with fried smoked cheese, chicken livers in bacon with mushroom cream sauce, but also with garlic shrimp and even spicy dishes. With bue cheese it becomes very buttery. Please serve at a temperature of 10-12 degrees Celsius.
The Winery
Bolfan winery is eco-certified. The wine is suitable for vegans.
The soil on which the grapes grow is a bit sandy with a lot of marly limestone and some clay. It is very mineral-rich soil, which gives the wines a mineral, salty taste.
