Tasting notes

The first attractive factor of this wine is its appearance, a very beautiful shiny gold. The color reveals its oenology (fermentation in barrels with agitation of fine lees or bâtonnage) and refers to its nature. Beautiful aromas of toast, honey and dried fruit, silky and lively on the palate, with persistent harmony in volume and characterized by freshness and a long aftertaste. The wine is a good combination with braised scallops, Bulhão Pato Clams, Caldeirada fish, Cataplanas, Grilled cod, Partridge stew. Please serve between 9ºC and 11ºC.

The Winery

Since the first harvest, Pousio Winery has received several national and international awards and accolades.

In 2018, the first single variety was launched, recognized nationally and internationally for its excellent quality, giving rise to the first Fallow “Alicante Boushet”. In 2019, the brands “Quatro Caminhos”, “Pousio Selection”, “Pousio Escolha”, “Pousio Reserva” and Premium red “Marmelar” were sold. “Pousio Arinto” also followed, with lots of freshness and notes of grapefruit.

Herdade do Monte da Ribeira's strategy focuses on the production and marketing of its own wine cellar, based on its increasingly high-quality vines. The ambition is always to produce the best wines.
