The pleasure of tasting Yquem is difficult to describe. It offers a multitude of balanced, complex flavours that create even more harmonies over time. The impression that remains is reminiscent of a quote by Frédéric Dard "the silence that follows the end of a piece by Mozart, in which the listener remains saturated with the music". This reflects the fact that Château d'Yquem remains remarkably long in the mouth and provides a unique, long-lasting pleasure. There is a beautiful expression in French to describe the extremely long finish of Yquem: il fait la queue du paon, which means that it spreads out over the tongue like a peacock's tail.
