Compass Box Hedonism 2024 Edition 43% 6 CL Sample

At the end of 2023, Compass Box announced the return of one of the whiskeys that started it all for them: Hedonism. Although the whiskey will no longer be part of the brand's core range, the Hedonism will become an annual limited edition. Every year we collaborate with a different female artist so that no label or bottling will look the same.

For this year's edition, Compass Box has teamed up with Scotland's Stephanie Rew . She is known for using an ancient technique of gilding with water, making her works resemble those from the Renaissance. At the same time as this whiskey, a documentary entitled From Grain to Gold is also released. In this documentary we get a behind-the-scenes look at both the making of the whiskey and the creation of the artwork.

Compass Box Hedonism is composed of old whiskeys that have mainly matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. There are also some of the last grain whiskeys from the 90s that they still have. This was also the main reason for phasing out the old version of Hedonism. The old and rare grain whiskeys from the 1990s became increasingly difficult to find and obtain. The taste of the whiskey is described as complex with salted caramel, spicy honey, mascarpone and rich vanilla coming together in a dazzling finish with subtle citrus notes.
