The small renowned Domaine Dupont-Fahn is located in Burgundy, for the connoisseurs right next to the wine village of Meursault. The winery was founded in 1975 by Dupont-Fahn's grandfather. The Chardonnay vines were planted in 1929. Now beautiful wines are produced that are not inferior to many premium crus, even though this area does not have this classification.
The name Dupont-Fahn is a combination of the name of his father, a winemaker, and the name of his mother, a well-known American wine importing family.
The wines of this winery differ somewhat in taste from the wines from the area. The owner is a bit quirky. For example, he also makes a rosé in a region that originally only has Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. That is why he is an odd one out in that respect. He also harvests very late in the season.
As a result, the yields from the vineyard are actually always a little lower, but the taste is much firmer and more exuberant than many of its neighbours. This is one of the top wines from this producer from a small parcel with a big name. It is one of the best white wines you will find in Burgundy.
