Tasting notes: The scent is effervescent and immediately gives the rich scent of blossoms and tropical fruit. The taste is round and soft but also rich and complex, again the ripe, yellow fruit comes forward.

Serving suggestions: As an aperitif, with mild Asian dishes, asparagus, grilled fish or soft, rich cheeses.

Area: Rueda

Region: Rueda is an old wine region in the northwest of Spain. The climate is continental with hot summers and cold winters, while it can also be quite windy. In the 70s and 80s many winemakers changed course to modern fresh wines and the old grape variety Verdejo was put in the spotlight. Rueda wines are now considered the best white wines of Spain.

About the winery: Vega Real is a relatively small boutique winery, founded in 1997 by the Barbadillo family and located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, close to Peñafiel. The vineyards are located next to one of the meanders of the Duero river and are surrounded by hundred-year-old black poplars.

Special features/remarks: The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 800 metres. Modern vinification at 17 ºC.
