The Gauldrons is a Campbeltown blended malt and the sixth addition to Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts series.

Bay of storms

The Gauldrons Literally translated means The Gauldrons; Bay of Storms. In this illustrious dark stormy bay the legend of King Robert the Bruce begins: Several attempts by Robert the Bruce to liberate Scotland from the English had failed.

Spider

After another defeat, King Robert was banished to Rathlin Island. It looked bad for him. Could he bring himself to fight any further? In the roof of his cave, Robert saw a small spider that tried in vain to make a web.

Independence from Scotland

The spider did not give up and after countless attempts, the spider succeeded. The spider's perseverance inspired Robert the Bruce and eventually led to Scotland's independence. This old legend is reflected on the packaging of The Gauldrons through the image of the spider and the web.
