Gevorkian Ariats Haghtanak Carbonic Karasi is an exceptional Armenian wine, made from the Haghtanak grape variety grown in the Ararat Valley. This unique wine undergoes a 15-day carbonic maceration, during which the whole grapes ferment within their skins without the addition of sulphites. After fermentation, the wine is aged for six months in ancient Armenian clay amphorae known as karases, which give the wine a characteristic nuance. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, this wine highlights the rich heritage of Armenian viticulture and the vibrant flavors of the Haghtanak grape.
The wine has a rich, deep red colour and enchants the senses with a delicate scent of fresh spring lilac and blackcurrant. On the tongue it reveals bold flavours of wild berries and ripe blackthorn, while the velvety acidity in the long finish is emphasised by hints of overripe blackberry and dark chocolate. For optimum conservation, the wine should be stored at a temperature between 5 and 20°C, with a relative humidity of up to 85%, in a well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and strong odours. Best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 18-20°C.
