A real Belgian vodka, that has been on our wish list for a long time and now we can really unpack with it, because thanks to our new Holstein kettle with retification column we are able to distill up to 96% alcohol. While we used to have to content ourselves with 85%, that last 10% is really important for a vodka. Purity, get rid of the 'off-flavors', the purity of the raw material, the softness of the extremely slow distillation… and the passion. It's all in the bottle.
We start our process with the fermentation of locally grown bintjes potatoes, the potato that Belgians are most fond of, because it produces our world-renowned fries. After boiling, cooling and fermenting into a kind of 'potato beer', we first distill it in our large Holstein kettle to achieve a spirit of about 60% alcohol. We then redistill it in our small high column still to 94-96% alcohol. After adding water and letting it rest for up to 6 months, we obtain the spirit that is soft and rich. The purest form of a distillate.
A vodka couldn't be more Belgian. Local, short chain, craft, passion and our Holstein boilers… enjoy it.
