Extra information:
Wine Estate Tenute Orestiadi was founded by a cooperative of winegrowers and the Orestiadi Foundation, a cultural institution that aims to promote the Sicilian native grapes (and art). The name of the domain refers to the legend of Aeschylus about Orestes and the Orestiadi. The vineyards are located around Gibellina, in the Belice valley near Trapani on the western side of Sicily.
After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. The fermentation takes place with selected yeasts at a temperature that does not exceed 18°C. To preserve the freshness of the aromas, there is no malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 3 months in stainless steel barrels and then 2 months in bottle.
