Rampur Double Cask Indian Single Malt 0,70 ltr 45%

Rampur is distilled in traditional copper pot stills. Built in 1943, the distillery is located east of New Delhi, just a hundred kilometers from the border with Nepal. The Himalayas provide strongly opposing climate conditions all year round. This gives the whiskey extra dimension and depth.

Rampur Indian Single Malt Whiskey is made in the same way as in Scotland. However, there is one big difference. Where the whiskey has to mature for a long time in Scotland and Ireland, actually throughout Europe, this is not necessary in India.

Due to the warm and humid climate, the whiskey matures very quickly here. Where the 'Angels Share', the evaporation of the whiskey from the barrel in Scotland is 2% per year, in India this is no less than 11 to 12% per year.

Rampur is a tribute to the Maharajas and rich Indian history. The Maharajas used to rule the Indian kingdoms. The logo with the two sabers refers to this time.

Rampur Double Cask is not cold filtered, has the natural color and has aged in bourbon and sherry casks respectively.

Tasting note:
Color: Amber.
Nose: Tropical fruit, grainy and oak tones thanks to the bourbon and sherry casks.
Taste: Sweet fruit, rich sherry and sultanas.
Finish: Long, beautiful and elegant.
