Billy Walker is celebrating his 50th anniversary in the whiskey industry this year. He started as a blender half a century ago. The knowledge and skills he gained in the decades that followed are now reflected in the whiskeys of The GlenAllachie, MacNair's and of course White Heather. These absolute quality whiskeys are therefore recommended for every whiskey lover.

For the White Heather 15YO, Billy Walker used his signature blending method. To this end, whiskeys undergo their first aging of at least twelve years in sherry casks, first fill ex-bourbon casks, or second fill casks. The whiskeys were blended from here and given a second aging for three years in PX puncheons, American new oak barrels and Oloroso puncheons.

This method, giving a whiskey a second maturation for a longer period of time, is one of Billy Walker's proven methods. Not only does it give depth to the final whisky, it also gives better structure and complexity to the blend.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Heather honey and Butterscotch, followed by orange peel, pineapple, mint and a touch of peat.
Palate: Layers of treacle, heather honey and Butterscotch, followed by orange peel, grapefruit and almonds.
Finish: Mocha, ginger and a hint of peat smoke provide a challenging finish.
