Feravino Dika Frankovka is truly an all-rounder, it is a red, smooth, fresh fruit whopper. Feravino Dika Frankovka comes from eastern Croatia. Frankovka is an Austrian grape variety known as Blaufränkisch. At the end of the 18th century it was brought to Slavonia. A perfect balance between acidity and pleasant tannins are characteristics of wines from the Frankovka grape variety.
This delicious ruby red wine tastes very fruity. The aromas are mainly of blackberries, berries and cherries. This is a wine with a stable character, the pleasant tannins complete the picture. The combination of the fruity taste and the different herbs of the wine is delicious. We recommend serving the wine with Italian pasta or barbecue dishes.
The Feravino winery is located in the wine region of Slavonia to the east of Croatia (between Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia) around the village of Feričanci. A fun fact, the name Feravino is actually a combination of Feričanci and Vino.
The Kovačević family took over the company from the state in 1997. Before that it was a cooperative. The family had to invest heavily in it, and when it was purchased the company was in a very dilapidated condition. Almost a quarter of the 160 hectares of vineyards have been replanted in twenty years. In addition to the indigenous grape varieties, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon were also introduced.
