The cask on which this whiskey has been stored is made from sessile oaks that have grown along the Atlantic coast of Scotland. Scottish oak is rarely used for barrel production. Making it is a big challenge because of its porosity, which increases the risk of leaks. With this one takes a risk, and there could be no whiskey left. Before the barrel is filled with the spirit, the wood is dried naturally for 36 months, allowing the flavor characteristics to develop further.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Bursting with oats, butterscotch and toffee, with notes of cinnamon, ginger and heather honey.
• Taste: Heather honey, orchard fruit and lemon zest, followed by white chocolate, cinnamon and ginger.
• Finish: Unmistakable sweet notes of toffee and butterscotch.
