The Reserva das Pedras wines are produced in the old vineyards planted in 1986 on the thousand year old terroir of Charneca. They have great respect for the heritage of these iconic vineyards, which stand where the Tejo River used to flow. The round stones and pebbles clearly leave their mark here. This unique terroir produces very elegant wines with a fresh profile. The harmony of the soil, the climate and the plants is perfectly reflected in this.
The Reserva das Pedras Castelao
To accurately determine the harvest time, QdA attaches great importance to monitoring the ripening. Whereby they regularly use samples from the vineyards. Evaluating and controlling various parameters beyond the essential, with the aim of achieving the superior quality of these wines. The fermentation takes place in the cellar and is temperature controlled. 50% of this Reserva das Pedras matures for 12 months in French oak barrels. The product is stabilized and filtered before bottling.
*Charneca – One of the three terroirs in the Tejo wine region, it is a sandy soil, slightly textured and granular, composed of sand (70%) and clay (15%), very porous and not water-retaining.

• Intense ruby red colour.
• The fresh aromatic sensations of mint transport you to the area where the vineyard is planted surrounded by eucalyptus, along with well-integrated chocolate notes that remind you of the famous mint chocolate. Black plum fruit compotes are also clear.
