The Valpolicella Ripasso DOC is the result of careful selection of grapes and artisanal winemaking techniques. The rich flavor and character of this wine are the result of the unique method of “ripasso,” in which the wine undergoes a second fermentation on dried Amarone grapes. This wine is made from a carefully selected blend of local grape varieties, including a harmonious blend of 70% Corvina and 30% Rondinella. The result is a wine with a unique character and a deep concentration of flavors. This beauty has an alcohol content of 14%. Wine House
Monte Tondo embodies pure tradition. In the middle of the hills surrounding Soave, Gino Magnabosco, the winemaker, cherishes this passion with his family and continues the rich traditions. The characteristics of Monte Tondo's wines are penetrating aromas, a dry and refreshing taste. The family closely follows the latest developments in viticultural technology for both Soave and Valpolicella. This commitment to improvement not only guarantees the highest quality of the wines, but also strikingly reflects the unique terroir. The challenges are many: the volcanic soil not only gives the wine a wealth of aromas, but is also porous and sometimes needs to be 'restored' when rain threatens to wash away the top layer of the hill. On 32 hectares of vineyards, spread over the best locations that the Soave zone has to offer, we find Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and of course Monte Tondo itself (from which the winery takes its name). These locations are responsible for the wine's unmistakably intense aromas, with a bouquet that ranges from floral to fruity, accompanied by an unmistakable taste.
