Coquelle de Terre – the brand
Smooth, earthy and lively is how “Coquille de Terre” can best be described. Carefully selected from French terroirs, Coquille de Terre embodies a beautiful combination of tradition and experience. Everything in a sleek, contemporary and stylish packaging.
Terroir
The Pays d'Oc benefits from the Mediterranean climate. With the coastline bordering the region to the south, this location ensures hot and dry summers that are good for ripening. On the other hand, the Black Mountain provides sufficient moisture and cool temperatures for the vineyards to produce grapes packed with fruity aromas. The effect of the terroir itself is also very noticeable in this region due to the great diversity within the wine-growing areas. These each create an expression of a grape variety/variety that is unique.
To produce this Cuvée, they have selected the best plots of each variety to achieve the quality level and mature taste. This classic blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre comes from rocky terroirs close to the Mediterranean Sea. This wine benefits from idyllic conditions to produce ripe balanced and healthy grapes for the Coquille de Terre Grenache Syrah Mourvèdre.
Viticulture
Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately. The maceration lasts about 15 days at a temperature of 26/28° C in concrete tanks. During the process, the winemakers regularly pump the juice to improve it. This transferring benefits the extraction of tannins, color and fruity aromas. The wine is placed on the fine lees before being carefully filtered and bottled. The Syrah is matured under the influence of French oak, which adds complexity to the blend to create unique aromas.
