This first Ontake Japanese Single Malt whiskey is fully matured in old sherry casks, specifically first-fill Solera sherry butts. The whiskey is based on exceptionally transparent and naturally soft water that has been filtered and polished over many years in the hilly Kagoshima area. The pure, fruity and full taste is created using home-grown yeast, carefully selected two-row barley grains and sherry barrels. Born from the blessings of the earth, the Ontake The First Edition is packaged in an elegant wooden box.

Tasting notes:
Color: Clear amber.
Nose: Plum mousse, dried raisins, cinnamon and lemon.
Taste: Rich and sweet with dried fruit, hazelnut, pear compote, apricot and slightly spicy.
Finish: Warm and persistent with chocolate and elegant sweetness and bitterness.
