The Aussières 2020 is a refined blend of 77% Syrah and 23% Mourvèdre, created by the renowned team at Lafite Rothschild, a name known to all. Château d'Aussières, owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, is nestled in the rugged hills just behind the Mediterranean coastline of Narbonne, in the south of France.

The grapes for Château d'Aussières come from carefully selected plots on the top of the hills. The soils are extremely shallow, consisting mainly of sandstone with very little clay, and water is scarce. This ensures that yields are very low, which benefits the quality. The blend is mainly based on Syrah and Mourvèdre, supplemented with small amounts of Grenache and Carignan.

The Mourvèdre vines have produced excellent quality grapes in recent years, now that they have reached their full maturity. This unique terroir and the expertise of the Lafite Rothschild team come together in this wine, which reflects the rugged beauty of the region.

Deep cherry red, intense and characterful, good quality, kicks off with a twist of bitter orange peel, with pomegranate, blueberry and cassis fruits, liqourice root, black chocolate, salt-licked with rosemary spice.
