Area: South West

Region: Sud Ouest is located in the south-west of France, where mainly white wines (91%) are produced. Traditionally, this area is also where the wines from which the famous Armagnac is distilled are made. The soil is alluvial with clay and sand and the climate is influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. As a result, the region has a wet spring and is relatively cool and sunny the rest of the year.

About the winery: Domaine de Guillaman from Gascony is a small family business from Gondrin, located between Bordeaux and Toulouse. Winemaker and owner Dominique Ferret has a lot of experience and he is the 6th generation in a row of his family to continue this tradition. His wines are highly appreciated for their own style and character. What is special is the fact that Dominique has been an orphan since he was 5 years old and was raised by his grandparents. Grandfather passes away when Dominique is 17 years old and from that moment on he is completely on his own.

Details/remarks: Winemaker and owner Dominique Ferret works with the most modern equipment and vinification methods. Winemaker Dominique Ferret has his own modern way of making wine and watches over the wine from the harvest and further vinification and storage using the most modern techniques. The white wines are also stored in conditioned stainless steel vats at 5 degrees Celsius.
