The Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year Old has clear influences from both bourbon and sherry wood. This malt has matured first 12 years in bourbon casks and then 3 months in young Oloroso casks. The peppery character, from the bourbon casks, insists, as it were rich and full aroma of the Oloroso barrels around. The Balvenie Doublewood, making it a complex malt.

Smell: deep character, orange, apricot, cinnamon

Taste: very complex, long finish marked by Oloroso sherry notes
