Color: Honey Gold
Fragrance: The seductive aromas of a French patisserie tickle your nose. You discover tarte au citron with sharp and creamy lemon genoise cake with creamy vanilla and candied lemon and orange peel, juicy raisins, dates, ginger, coconut and nutmeg.
Taste: The soft creaminess of lime pie fills the mouth with the bite of citrus and then slowly makes way for warm caramel and ginger combined with the mild nutty flavor of nutmeg and roasted almonds. Lemon Meringue and melting honey exit.
Bearing: The base is The Original, aged at least 10 years in ex-bourbon casks. For The Nectar d'Or matures this spirit two years additional exclusive hand selected Sauternes white wine barrels
Nose: The Sauternes dominates. Sweet and dry with good fresh barley. Earthly notes and green tea. Water brings the sweet wine even more dominant.
Taste: Peppery and dry with grassy notes. Wine with fructose. Water adds power for the peppers.
Finish: Bitter peaches, kinda like a small furry peach peel. Dry and oaky with spices.
Balance: Wine effects hugely in this whisky. Good dram.

Toffee, caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate and currants, with a touch of saltiness. Despite the finish, still the typical minty bourbon taste surfaces as well.
Taste
Chocolate-coated spice cake. Not the pure sweetness that you would expect from such a finish though: Its basis is quite spicy, with some pepper notes and even a salty touch.

Sweet & spicy. Also a whiff of rubber, but not disturbing. Quite long.
