Tasting notes: Extremely pale salmon pink colour, juicy small red fruit and grapefruit in the nose. Supported in the taste by ripe fruit, some minerals and something crispy.
Serving suggestions: As an aperitif and terrace wine, with many light meat and fish dishes and salads.
Region: In the far south of France, close to the Mediterranean Sea, lies the ancient wine region of Oc. Its name is derived from the medieval name Occitane. This region is bathed in sunlight and is imbued with the scents of garrigue, cypress, almond and olive trees.
About the winery: Every year it is a great challenge for Jerôme Vic and his wife Aurélie to bring in a healthy harvest from the vineyards of Les Domaines Robert Vic. Because the vineyards have a total surface of over 180 ha. and have different soil structures and microclimates. Part consists of ash from the extinct volcano Roque Haute. In addition, another part has basalt as a subsoil but also clay and gravel, from the nearby river Libron. All this makes it complex for the winemaker. Robert Vic's grandfather and also founder of Les Domaines Robert Vic, made his fortune by distilling simple wine into alcohol. Fortunately, his son Georges saw in the sixties of the last century that this was not the future for the company and started to replant the vineyards with better quality grapes for beautiful wines. Nowadays they literally still pick the grapes from here because on some of the vineyards there are still plots with old vines from this period.
