Following the first batch, which finished in a Pineaus des Charentes wine barrel, the second batch of the Old Pulteney Coastal Series finished in a port barrel. Distilling and maturing close to the coast, in combination with careful barrel selection, creates a unique Scottish single malt whisky. With traditional warehouses exposed to the invigorating sea air blowing in from the North Sea, Old Pulteney captures the flavor of the sea in every drop of whisky, from subtle coastal influences to more pronounced salty characteristics. This limited edition of Old Pulteney has matured in former bourbon and port barrels from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal.

Port town of Wick

Shaped and defined by its beautiful coastal location, Old Pulteney owes a lot to its home town of Wick. Founded in 1826, at a time when the town was home to a thriving fishing port, Old Pulteney holds an important place at the heart of this coastal community.

Taste the sea

With a flavor spectrum from vanilla to various spices and a touch of salt, this Old Pulteney takes you to a wide palette of flavors. This release is fragrant and rich with notes of raisins and buttery vanilla, complemented by candied orange and marzipan cherries. Baked caramel apples, fresh plum and salted dark chocolate decorate the palate and result in a fruity explosion in the finish with a delicious salty influence from the sea.
