APPELLATION : Puligny-Montrachet shares Chardonnay's most perfect expression with Chassagne. Only a few meters away from the great vintages, the appellation produces a renowned white wine with an assertive personality. Pinot Noir takes advantage of the favorable soil and produces an excellent red wine, especially around the Hameau of Blagny. The vineyards are often on brown limestone soil or limestone with alternating clay-limestone marl banks, sometimes deep or directly on the hard rock. The clay loam is thick at the top and fine-grained further down the hill. Exposure to the east and southeast at an altitude between 230 and 320 meters.
