Black Tot Master Blender's Reserve Rum 2024

This year Master Blender Oliver Chilton has added a higher percentage of Barbadian rum to accentuate the rich tropical fruit in the blend. As always he has tried to put his own twist on the blend. This year including a 1997 rum from the now defunct Caroni distillery in Trinidad.

A new expression of the lost art of perpetual blending at sea; he began with rum sourced from last year’s Master Blender’s Reserve. Then, casks were selected from Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana and Jamaica. These four unique country blends were then combined with Black Tot’s perpetual reserve, layered and perfectly balanced, to bring you Master Blender’s Reserve 2024. As always, bottles of original Royal Navy Rum are added to the blend to keep its liquid history alive.

Smell
Grilled buttered pineapple with lime, chili and coconut. White chocolate with mint and strawberry ice cream.

Taste
Buttery and thick with manuka honey, toasted vanilla pods and dried mango. Sweet spices balance against sweet citrus. Notes of dark sugar and baked banana, complemented by sweet melon and guava.

Aftertaste
Light notes of liquorice are well balanced with the tropical sweetness. Dried mango with a hint of bitter chocolate and kaffir lime leaves.
