Old Pulteney Distillery is situated in the port of Wick and therefore the most northerly distillery on the mainland. Old Pulteney was founded in 1826 and at that time Wick was an ideal spot on the coast for transporting whiskey sea. In the 19th century, this place is also an important port for herring fishing and one of the busiest fishing ports of Europe.
The history of Old Pulteney is therefore closely linked to fishing and the fishing boats. Many workers from the distillery were also fishermen. This rich history is found in the special bottles and tubes of Old Pulteney range.
