Region: The Vinho Verde wine region is located in the north-west of Portugal. It has a cool and relatively humid climate. Vinho Verde literally means green wine and is best known for its light and fresh white wine.

About the winery: The history of the Quinta do Paço de Teixeiro winery dates back to 1788. The 10 hectares of vineyards are mainly planted with the avesso grape variety, as well as loureiro and alvarinho. The vineyards are located in a steep valley that provides cooling at night, even in the hottest summer. The soil, unlike most vinho verde producers, has a unique terroir with a schist soil. Together, this provides the perfect conditions for producing mineral and fresh white wines with a perfect acid balance. Quinta do Paço de Teixeiró is located in Baião, the Vinho Verde subregion, just 80 km from Porto city centre. The proximity of the Atlantic Ocean is clearly noticeable in the vineyards and offers a relatively cool climate all year round.

A pure and complex Alvarinho with a light yellow colour. In the nose, fruity and floral notes come together beautifully with the subtle wood influences of oak maturation. The taste is refined, with a well-integrated acidity that provides a harmonious balance. The soft texture leads to a delicate but persistent aftertaste. Perfect to combine with refined fish dishes and elegant starters.
