A beautiful full and concentrated wine. There is quite a difference in quality between the various Nero d'Avolas from Sicily. We can confidently say that this is one of the better ones.

Tenute Orestiadi Wine Estate was founded by a cooperative of winegrowers and the Orestiadi Foundation, a cultural institution that aims to promote Sicilian indigenous grapes (and art). The name of the domain refers to the legend of Aeschylus about Orestes and the Orestiadi. The wine is aged for about 4 months in stainless steel tanks. It is then transferred to large French oak tonneaux, for a maturation of about 8-10 months. The wine is then completed by a minimum of another 6 months aging in the bottle.
