Connemara Peated Single Malt 0,70 ltr 40%

Nose: I expected light smoke but this had more than a light touch of peaty smoke, very nice. Floral and slightly stingy.

Taste: Salty and dry peat. Woody with hints of vanilla.

Finish: Light peat, nicely warm and with a good length.

Nose
Smoked meat (sausage) that carefully transforms to banana esters makes this really interesting on the nose. Some grassy herbs and aniseed in the background.

Taste
Interesting grassy peaty malt, but really week. Tea with milk and lovely balanced smoke.

Finish
Peat water, some licorice and nothing else. What happened to the finish?

Comments
The nose is really interesting and complex, the flavors on the palate are week but yet balanced, the complexity disappears. The finish is poor and reduce the overall experience unfortunately. The Black Bottle blended (old version) is so superior to this one.

Wat een heerlijke whisky. Zo reuk- en smaakvol. De smaak van de rook en turf komt echt naar boven.
