Nose: Great smoky peat with iodine. One of the best aromas out there.

Taste: Very oaky and peaty dram with spices. Medicinal malt with hints of vanilla.

Finish: Strong but not too rough. Smoke and tar with iodine. Dry and complex.

Balance: Strong and "healing" all the way.

Simply the best whisky for me.

Nice! My favorite peated whisky! Not overbearingly peaty, but definitely heavily peated.
Nose: surprisingly fresh, peat, sweetness from god knows where, iodine
Taste: peat, iodine/medicinal taste, tar, perfect balance of sweet and salty, liqourice
Finish: medium to long, turns from sweet and salty to dry and bitter
Absolutely great! Reminds me of specific Finnish candy.

Nose
Peat, citrus, vanilla, orange, raspberry and toffee. Nice recognisable nose.
Taste
Peat ash, raspberry, orange, vanilla and caramel. Pretty weak, that's a pity.

Finish
Peat, raspberry, caramel, dark chocolate and orange.

Comments
A very recognisable Laphroaig. It is tasty but lacks a bit of punch. At a higher ABV this would have been one of the best standard bottlings on the market. Still a good introduction to Laphroaig though.

Een Islay klassieker! Heerlijke turf gestookte Islay whisky, die eigenlijk doorlopend in je collectie aanwezig hoort te zijn naast een goede fles Ardbeg en/of Lagavulin. Mocht Laphroaig 10 jaar oud je goed zijn bevallen, is een volgende stap denk ik de Laphroaig Quarter Cask, ook erg lekkere whisky!
